Providing a Helping Hand to Upgrade the Cape to Cape Track

The Cape to Cape track is 124km in length and located in WA’s most visited park – the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park.

Recently Parks and Wildlife within the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions have invested in upgrading the track to assist in managing terrain, improve steps, more effectively deal with some drainage issues and avoid natural and culturally sensitive areas.

Given the remote nature of the track, the proximity of the track to the coast, as well as the terrain, there are many areas of the track where getting vehicles in and out is just not practical.

“Helicopter Logistics was engaged by civil contracting company, Earth & Stone WA to deliver the materials to designated locations and staging areas to assist the DBCA team with this important project. There was a range of building materials, as well as road base for sections of the Cape to Cape track” said Matt Corbett, Managing Director and Chief Pilot.

“The South West features spectacular coastline and pristine forest, and it was fantastic to be a part of this project to improve the Cape to Cape track more quickly and with less impact on the native environment”.
