Helicopter Logistics has recently completed a challenging precision lifting project for the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA).
The Munda Biddi Trail is over 1060km long and attracts bike riders from around the state. Whilst some of the rides are family friendly, most suit the more dedicated rider. The tracks include unsealed roads, some tarmac, plus fire roads and single track.
This project was to assist in the development of a new part of the track as part of the Munda Biddi trail from Elephant Rocks to Green Pools.
Helicopter Logistics’ precision lifting team lifted over 270 tonnes of road base for the new track. Delivering this road base for any other means other than a helicopter was practically impossible due to the terrain. There were 370 individual lifts of the road base over the course of a week.
Managing Director Matt Corbett said, “this is such a fantastic part of WA, and this project will help many more people see this part of WA more easily and more safely. It is a great initiative of DBCA to support the Munda Biddi Trail”.
